Shayla's First Sleepover At Our House

What fun this has been and still is!!

Shayla has already had several sleep-overs at friends' and relatives' houses before, but last night was the first sleep-over of Shayla's that we, her parents, have hosted. This has been fun. Yes, it's true that it is a lot of work, but it's fun to watch them have such a good time together. That being said, we had a 'blank' itinerary which is obviously the easiest that it will ever get. I stand in awe at the planning and am exhausted at the thought of all the energy that must have gone into the Week Long, Multi-Kid Extravaganza that went on at Nana and Risa's house in Houston earlier this Summer!

What I can say is that it's fun watching them having and building those first real friendships and relationships. Listening to their conversations is a hoot! They're so funny! It also gives one a little insight into your own relationships to listen to them go through the undulations of their own. Very interesting and insightful!

great memories being built :)
When Shayla's friend's mom comes to pick up her daughter (5 y.o.) and her son is also 'in tow' at the time (6 y.o.), he says "Hey mom, can we bring Janelle back over here later so that she can spend another night here?!" Hahaha! ....Ahh, the memories of sibling interactions that this brings back. Good times.
He then runs over to Shayla and says "Don't worry Shayla, we're bringing her back later". Hahaha! I was rolling on the floor!
