Comical Four Year Old Attempts

My daughter who just turned four last month is still fascinated by how daddy (me) can pee in the toilet standing up. I've mentioned it before, but the comedy of this fascination and the drive to do it lives on. Read on...

Her mom told me that the other day when they were in the bathroom together that Shayla was standing straddling the toilet ready to 'let it rip' to see if she could pee into the john standing over it like that. Mommy told her that it was not going to work, but Shayla said that if daddy could do it that she wanted to learn how to do that too. Mommy was explaining that it would just run down her legs and create a mess and that she would just have to change clothes all over again---that this is all that would come of it.

I guess mommy convinced her that she had to sit down and that this was just 'foolishness'. The desire is understandable, but that alone doesn't change the physical mechanics of physiology. No, it isn't fair. Poor baby. Take heart; there will be many things that come naturally to you that boys just can't get or do. ....Just wait and see. Not only that, but those things will be far more important than whether or not you can stand while peeing.

Explaining to my 4 y.o. that once you mix 2 or more colors of play-doh that they are forever then enjoined prompts a genuine look of confusion & mystery. She knows the drill, however cannot help herself from marrying the colors into this blob of brownish green yuck that reminds me of Classic Horror Hit Movie called 'The Blob'. We have a whole miniature 'blob' community at our house. She keeps cranking them out; my words are just squawks on the wind.
